It has been announced that Kazami Saruwatari's light novel "Shio Taiou no Satou-san ga Ore ni dake Amai" (The Cold-Hearted Satou-san is Sweet Only to Me), published by Gagaga Bunko (Shogakukan), will be adapted into a TV anime in 2026. Fumihiro Yoshimura will direct, and Tezuka Productions will produce the anime. Hiyori Ishibashi will play the role of Sota Oshio, who will learn the true nature of "Shio Taiou no Satou-san," and Miku Ito will play the role of Koharu Satou, who is also known as "Shio Taiou no Satou-san."
The series is a romantic comedy about Koharu Sato, who is actually just a shy and awkward girl known as "Sato-san with the cold attitude," and her classmate Sota Oshio, and their awkward relationship. The series has sold approximately 1.5 million copies in total.
Ishibashi commented, "I encountered this work when I was a student, and as a reader, I always felt excited thinking, 'I want to have a romance like that with Sato-san.' I am truly honored to have been entrusted with the role of Oshio-kun. I will definitely make Sato-san happy. I will put my heart and soul into playing Oshio-kun, who is kind, cool, and somehow endearing! Thank you for your support!"
Ito said, "From the audition, I was drawn to Sato's sweet, straightforward, and cute personality, even though she has a cold demeanor, so I am very honored to be able to play her. While it's frustrating to watch Sota and Sato's misunderstandings and misinterpretations, you can't help but root for these two honest and considerate people! I hope to portray Sato, who is sometimes cold but is doting only on Sota, with expressive facial expressions, so please keep an eye on them in the anime as well, thank you!"
