Actors Akari Takaishi and Tommy Bastow attended the "Special Talk Event in BK" for the NHK Asadora drama series "Bakebake" (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.) held at NHK Osaka Hall (Chuo-ku, Osaka) on March 16th. They spoke about their thoughts on "Bakebake."
"Bakebake" is based on the lives of Setsu Koizumi, the daughter of a fallen samurai family in Matsue, and her husband, Lafcadio Hearn). It depicts the story of a heroine who loves ghost stories and lives an ordinary life with her foreign husband.
Takaishi revealed her feelings, saying, "I am truly happy to have been given this opportunity. As we reach the climax, I am overwhelmed with emotion knowing that this may be my last opportunity like this, and I just wanted to express my gratitude. I would be happy if that came across."
She continued, "' Bakebake' is a story about everyday life until the very end, so I would be happy if ' Bakebake' could become even a little bit familiar and ingrained in everyone's daily lives. I hope that your daily lives and the days in ' Bakebake' overlap."
Basto commented, "After filming wrapped, I left Japan for a while and returned last week. It feels like I've come home. I don't feel like it's the end yet, but I might feel really down in two weeks after the broadcast ends. Akari-san was exactly as the line said, 'The best mom in the world.' She was very kind and considerate, and she patiently listened to my broken Japanese the whole time. I'm truly grateful."
In addition to Takaishi and Bastou, Kanichiro, Honami Sato, Shogo Hama Shogo, Maehara Mizuki, Nouchi Maru, Iketani Nobue, and Sano Shiro also attended the event.
On the same day, Keiko Kitagawa and Rihito Itagaki attended the "Special Talk Event in Matsue" held in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture.
The event will be broadcast as "' Bakebake' Special Talk Show" on NHK General at 6:05 PM on March 20th, and on NHK General at 8:15 AM on March 21st (for the Kansai and Chugoku regions, an extended 45-minute version).
