A teaser PV has been released for the fourth season of the TV anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," titled " The Culling Game Jujutsu Kaisen 2," which is based on the popular manga by Gege Akutami serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). The video depicts increasingly intense battles, showing Kinji Hakari and Shishikumo Ichi fighting with their cursed techniques unleashed, Maki Zenin showing off her powerful fighting skills, Choso and Yuki Tsukumo facing off against Kensaku, as well as Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro crying out their anguish. It was also announced that Takeshi Sato, who directed the theatrical anime "Zombie Land Saga : Yumeginga Paradise" and served as assistant director for the third season of "Jujutsu Kaisen Kaisen," "The Culling Game Part 1," will be directing the fourth season.
Director Sato commented, "I feel the weight of responsibility every day in taking on a work that is filled with immense passion and is a beloved original work that is cherished by many people. I am drawing strength from the passion and accumulated efforts of the staff and cast who have supported ' Jujutsu Kaisen' up until now. And while firmly inheriting the expressions and possibilities that ' Jujutsu Kaisen' has pioneered so far, I will do my best to elevate the charm of the work into animation in the best possible way. "Jujutsu Kaisen" is a manga series that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from March 2018 to September 2024. The story follows high school student Yuji Itadori, who is thrown into a world of battles against curses after a powerful "cursed object" is unsealed. The series has sold over 150 million copies worldwide.
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the second season, "Kaigyoku/Gyokusetsu/ Shibuya Incident," aired from July to December 2023. The theatrical film "Jujutsu Kaisen 0," a prequel to the first season, was released in December 2021 and was a huge hit, grossing approximately 13.75 billion yen domestically and approximately 26.5 billion yen worldwide. The third season of the TV anime, "Culling Game Part 1," aired from January to March.
