Usagi's manga "Jimoto Saikou!" (My Hometown is the Best!), which has gained popularity on social media, will be adapted into an anime and streamed exclusively worldwide on Netflix. MAPPA, known for "Jujutsu Kaisen" and "Chainsaw Man," will produce the animation. Singer-songwriter aiko will also be performing the theme song, "milk."
"My Hometown is the Best!" depicts girls who have never left their hometown and continue to say "My hometown is the best!" no matter what misfortunes they face. Serialized on social media, the story, which unfolds in an environment that seems to embody all the evils of the world, despite its cute illustrations, has garnered attention.
A teaser visual has been released depicting the protagonist, Chanel, surrounded by great friends and seniors, and her wonderful hometown. A teaser PV featuring the theme song "milk" sung by aiko has also been released.
