Actors Mao Daichi and Hiroshi Tachi appeared at the premiere event for the film "License Surrender!?" (directed by Hayato Kawai, opening June 19) held in Tokyo on May 20.
This marks their first collaboration in 20 years since Oda Nobunaga (Tachi) and Oichi (Daichi) in the NHK Taiga drama "Komyo ga Tsuji" (2006). Daichi promoted the film in her unique style, saying, "In this movie, he shows his uncool side, but in the end, he's cool. Almost annoyingly so (laughs). I think this is a movie where you can fully enjoy the brand that is Hiroshi Tachi."
Tachi proudly stated, "I think it turned out to be really funny. Everyone has a different sense of humor, but I think it's a movie that will make people laugh."
The event was also attended by Nanase Nishino, Miki Maya, Yoko Minamino, Ryudo Uzaki, and director Kawai.
The movie "License Surrender!?" is a nonstop driving comedy in which actor Hiroshi Nanjo (played by Tachi), who has just turned 70, gets involved with his manager and family through a casual comment he makes about a motorcycle accident caused by a fellow actor, and his comments are misinterpreted in a way that is completely different from what Nanjo intended.
