On May 20th, Maki Goto, a former member of the idol group "Morning Musume," and now a singer and television personality, held a press conference in Tokyo to announce her new skincare brand, "rall.+" (Ral Plus). At the press conference, Goto, now 40 years old, shared photos from when she was 13, just before her debut, when she was 23, and when she was 35, and reflected on her skin at those times.
She recalls that she made her debut as a member of "Morning Musume" during her summer vacation when she was 13, saying, "I started wearing makeup for work, and I wasn't even properly removing it. I got a lot of acne and my skin became really rough. My sleep schedule and diet changed all at once, so I think my skin was being honest about it."
She then said, "In my 20s, getting a tan was part of the experience. I wasn't conscious of skin whitening, and although I used face masks, if I had any skin problems, I would rush to the dermatologist. My skin in my 30s was about a 90 out of 100." When asked about skincare she was glad she did in her 30s, she said, "Sun protection. I was careful not to let my eyes absorb ultraviolet rays."
"rall.+" will release two beauty serums, "rallplus Aqua Peel" and "rallplus Clear Skin Serum," as its first items nationwide on the 27th. Prior to the release, sales will begin on the official online store on the 20th. They will also be available for pre-sale at a pop-up store held at the event space "0th_hub.nihonbashi" in Nihonbashi, Tokyo from the 21st to the 24th.
