Actor Masahiro Higashide appeared on "Masahiro Higashide's Camping Detox" (produced by Asahi Broadcasting Corporation), which was streamed on ABEMA on May 18th, and talked about the reason why he suspended his YouTube channel.
When guest professional boxer Tenshin Nasukawa asked Higashide, "Have you quit YouTube, Mr. Higashide?", Higashide replied, "I'm saying it's on hiatus now, but there's no particular plan for when I'll start again."
She continued, "It was just a normal video of my life, but cooking here became a regular thing. But in my life, there are days when I go out for ramen, and days when I go for conveyor belt sushi, but I realized that having to 'cook a meal (for the video)' wasn't really living, so I took a break."
He further elaborated on his theory, saying, "Perhaps life is just a way to kill time," and "If you have money, you use that money to kill time. But if you become so busy that you can't kill time, then it's meaningless. You lose the feeling of being alive..."
