It has been announced that a second season of the TV anime "The Hero 9004 Squad Prison Records," based on the popular light novel from Dengeki Shin Bungei (KADOKAWA), is in production. A promotional video announcing the second season's production and an ultra teaser visual have been released. The visual depicts Patouche Kivia, who faced a shocking turn of events in the final episode of the first season by becoming a Punishment Hero, along with Zairo Forberts and Teolitta heading off on a new mission, accompanied by the tagline, "Beyond the Endless Punishment."
The first season concluded on March 26th. The production of the second season was announced at an event held on March 28th as part of "AnimeJapan 2026". The original author, Rocket Shokai, commented, "I can't stop feeling nervous at the thought of being able to see the wonderful work of the anime staff again. As a viewer myself, I'm really looking forward to it. I have no doubt that it will be a work that exceeds my expectations. To express this joy to the fullest, I'm going to go eat a special ramen set right now."
Mephisto, who is in charge of the illustrations for the original work, said, "Congratulations on the decision to make a second season of the anime! In the first season, all the main characters had been introduced and it was just getting started...! So I'm really happy that we'll be able to see the continuation! I'm looking forward to seeing the same high quality in the second season as well!"
It was also announced that a completely new game, "The Sentenced to Be a Hero-Game of the GODDESS-," is in production. KADOKAWA will be in charge of publishing, and VIC GAME STUDIOS will be in charge of development.
In response to the game adaptation, Rocket Shokai commented, "We are very happy that the world of Yuusha Kei, created by everyone involved, will be turned into a game. We think it will be different from the novel and anime, so I am looking forward to it as much as I am looking forward to trying a new ramen dish!"
