The program "Jūnin Toiro ~Ie ni Aru Kazoku no Katachi~" (MBS, Saturdays at 5pm, Kansai local broadcast, etc.), hosted by talent Mifune Mika and actor Taro Suruga, will feature a "optimal solution house" in its March 28th broadcast, created by an architect couple in the Jindaiji area of Tokyo, who pursued convenience and cost-effectiveness.
The residents are a family of four with two children. A year ago, a couple, both licensed architects, designed and built the house. They considered more than 30 different plans. In the end, they secured two gardens by arranging the house in a box-like shape with some staggered positions. The garden on the north side serves to keep private spaces such as the bedrooms away from the busy road, while the garden on the south side brings light into the living room and dining kitchen.
Upon entering, the entrance hall features wall storage using perforated board and ample storage space. The house has a split-level design, with a spacious 15-tatami mat dining kitchen located about one meter above the living room on the first floor. The stylish kitchen is furnished with functional items from IKEA, saving approximately 1 million yen. The TV stand also has a clever design; after trying various plans to eliminate clutter while making it convenient to use, rattan was used on the front.
This house is not just about the shape of the house; it's a home filled with the family's own "final answer," having pursued convenience, cost, and even the comfort of the family until they were completely satisfied. In fact, they haven't decided on a specific use for the large earthen floor area right inside the entrance, and the husband says, "I hope we can continue to discover how to use it in the future." The wife expressed her satisfaction with the house, saying, "Everyone in the family has their own space, and it's very comfortable and makes us feel very happy that we can all enjoy living here."
"Jūnin Toiro" is a program that visits homes across Japan and introduces the unique features and charms of the homes of their inhabitants. After broadcast, it is available for streaming on TVer for one week.
