The anime "Nippon Sangoku," based on the manga by Ikka Matsuki serialized in "MangaONE" (Shogakukan), has been ranked 10th in the global TV series category of Prime Video's "TOP 10 Prime Original Films and Series" rankings for May 25-31. In the rankings, which announce the top 10 in four categories: global movies and TV series, and non-English movies and TV series, "Nippon Sangoku" came in 2nd in the non-English TV series category. Another Japanese work, the dating reality show "The Bachelorette Japan," also made it into the top 10 in the non-English TV series category.
"Nippon Sangoku" is set in a near-future world where civilization has collapsed, and Japan has been divided into three countries, entering a period known as the Three Kingdoms. The story follows the adventures of a young man named Misumi Seiki who aims to reunify Japan.
The anime is directed by Kazuaki Terazawa, known for "The Ancient Magus' Bride Season 2," and produced by Studio Kafka. Jun Fukuyama Kensho Ono voices the protagonist, Seiki Misumi, while Jun Fukuyama plays Yoshitsune Asama, Asami Seto plays Asami Seto, and Takashi Nagasako plays Takashi Hiradono. It is being streamed worldwide first on Prime Video and is also airing on TOKYO MX, BS Nippon Television, and other channels.
