A new commercial for Nescafé Espresso Base (Nestlé Japan), featuring actors Takumi Kitamura and Yukino Kishii, was released on June 5th and began airing nationwide that same day.
The commercial introduces a new way to enjoy coffee: "diluting it to suit your preferences and mood." The new commercial, coinciding with the product renewal, features the key message, "It's espresso that sets you free."
The "People" section begins with the question, "What should I mix it with next?", and depicts the time spent freely enjoying coffee. It expresses the process of finding your own unique cup of coffee, without being bound by any fixed way of drinking it, but rather according to your mood and preferences of the day.
Kitamura created "Apple Ginger Coffee," a blend of concentrated coffee, apple juice, ginger ale, and rosemary, while Kishii showcased an affogato-style variation combining it with milk and ice cream.
Through scenes of people creating and enjoying different variations of coffee, the commercial showcases how coffee connects people and expands the possibilities of how to enjoy it in a variety of ways. It conveys that the process of "mixing and enjoying" Nescafé Espresso Base is a casual and fun experience for everyone, and advocates for coffee to become an even more liberating presence.
The comments from Mr. Kitamura and Mr. Kishii are as follows:
◇Comment from Takumi Kitamura
I was surprised at how well the apple ginger coffee paired with Nescafé Espresso Base when I actually made it. The refreshing taste combined with the depth of the coffee made it a drink that would suit any time of day—morning, noon, or night. I really enjoyed this photoshoot because we were able to shoot in such a lovely space. It was simply delicious, and I was able to be my true self until the very end.
◇Comment from Yukino Kishii
We had a great time shooting in a lovely location overlooking the sea, relaxing and chatting with the staff from time to time. When I actually made and drank the "affogato-style coffee," I found it to be very easy to drink, with plenty of ice cream, and the coffee and milk blended perfectly. It felt like a well-deserved treat. I think I'd like to drink it to relax before an important moment. It's creamy and calming, and the coldness will give me the energy to focus.
