The TV anime "The Furious Young Lady Swore Revenge. ~I Will Crush My Homeland with the Power of the Grimoire~," based on the light novel from HJ Novels (Hobby Japan) that won the "HJ Novel Award 2021 First Half," will begin airing on TV Tokyo every Monday at 2 AM starting July 6th. Additional cast members have also been announced, with Yu Serizawa joining as Tida and Shizuka Ishigami as Elsa Archfield.
Serizawa, who plays Tidus, a nun who performs healing magic in rural villages and is a free-spirited girl unlike a typical nun, commented, "At my first recording session, I was told that I was putting in too much effort! (laughs) That's how much I felt there were parts of the character that I could have fun with when I read the original work, so I enjoyed creating the character. In the end, I think I created a character that is playful, but also stays true to the mysteriousness of the work, and is the kind of character that you'll get hooked on when you see her! Please look forward to it!"
Ishigami, who plays Elsa, an A-rank adventurer nicknamed "Elsa the Phoenix," said, "Elsa is an A-rank adventurer who wields a sword. She fights bad guys together with Elisabeth using the divine weapon [Phoenix Sword (Fenice Spada)]! She is also the leader of <<Sharp Tip>>, so I made sure to express her steady nature well."
A main promotional video featuring characters such as Millais Kataria has also been released. The video raises expectations for how Elisabeth will take revenge on her homeland, and a portion of the opening theme song "QED," sung by Yui Ogura, has been unveiled.
"The Enraged Young Lady Swears Revenge" is a light novel written by Hagure Metabo and illustrated by Masami. It's a revenge fantasy about Elisabeth, a beautiful genius young lady who is suddenly dumped by the Crown Prince and imprisoned. Armed with the most powerful grimoire, she uses her connections, finances, and military power to take revenge on her traitors. It has also been adapted into a manga.
The anime will be directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya and produced by Studio Comet. Saori Onishi will voice the main character, Elisabeth Leiston/Ellie Leiston.
