It has been announced that Yui Sakurai of the idol group "FRUITS ZIPPER" will be performing the ending theme (ED) "Hikari" for the TV anime "Kakekoi ni Kakeru Yoru ni Kakeru Kimi to, Me ni Invisible Koi wo Shita." (Kakekoi), which is based on a light novel from GA Bunko (SB Creative). This will be Sakurai's first time performing an ED for an anime as a solo artist. It was also announced that composer Harumi Fuki, who has won the Japan Academy Prize for Music Excellence Award three times, including being the youngest recipient, will be in charge of the anime's music.
Sakurai said, "It's been a year since my major debut as a solo artist, and I'm truly happy to be able to perform the ending theme for an anime for the first time. This song expresses the transience and preciousness of the work, and it's a song that resonates with Koharu's transparency and pure feelings. I hope that by listening to it, you'll be able to enjoy the world of the work even more deeply."
Fuki commented, "Koharu's strength lies in living life to the fullest. She seeks 'ordinary happiness' and lives powerfully. This play unfolds as a small-scale dialogue drama. With a small ensemble of piano, strings, and woodwinds, we hope you will enjoy the ephemeral yet powerful music that brings out the strength of each instrument, like fireworks. Please witness the delicate love story between Sorano Kakeru and Fuyutsuki Koharu."
The second promotional video has also been released. The video focuses on the brightness and positive attitude of the heroine, Koharu Fuyutsuki, who enjoys her blindness not as a limitation but as "a different way of seeing the world," and also gives a glimpse into the beginning of the relationship between Kakeru Sorano and Koharu.
The work is a light novel written by Shima Nanigashi and illustrated by raemz. It is a love story about the shy college student Sorano Kakeru and the blind heroine Fuyutsuki Koharu who meet and are drawn to each other, and it also became a topic of conversation when it won the Grand Prize at the 15th GA Bunko Awards. A live-action drama starring actors Riko Nagase and Fujiwara Daisuke was broadcast on MBS's "Drama Tokku" slot from December 2025 to February 2026.
The anime will be directed by Yuzuru Yoshizaki and produced by Macaria. Miyu Irino will voice Kakeru Sorano, and Saori Hayami. It will begin airing on AT-X, TOKYO MX, MBS, and other channels from July 6th.
