Actress Toko Miura's first solo stage performance, "Prima Facey - Listen to My Voice -," will begin its Tokyo run at The Suzunari (Setagaya Ward, Tokyo) on July 1st. Stage photos have also been released.

"Primor Facey" was first published in 2019 by Australian playwright Susie Miller. Since then, it has been performed by talented actors from various countries, and this will be its first performance in Japan.

The title is derived from a legal term in Latin, meaning "a tentative fact" or "strong evidence unless there is counter-evidence."

Set against the backdrop of British courts and the judicial system, Miura plays Tessa Ensler, a sharp-minded trial lawyer who has pursued nothing but victory. However, due to a certain case, she is suddenly thrust into the position of a victim overnight, and amidst extreme emotional turmoil, what is she confronting, pursuing, and fighting for...? The play is directed by Tamiya Kuriyama.

Toko Miura said, "I was genuinely happy to be asked to participate in the first performance of this work in Japan, and to be in a position to bring this work to the world."

This is the third time I've met director Kuriyama-san in person for this play.

During rehearsals, Miura said, "I approach the rehearsal space with a neutral yet flexible mind, and by first accepting what I'm told and trying it out, new discoveries are born. I'm spending such enriching time." On the first day of rehearsals, Kuriyama told her, "I want you to protect Touko's mental and physical health at all costs," and she approached the opening day with the importance of "sincerely and honestly delivering the story" in her heart.

The play will run at The Suzunari until the 26th. It will then tour to five cities: Gunma, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Osaka, and Hyogo.
