The TBS Sunday drama "VIVANT," starring actor Masato Sakai, will begin its sequel on July 26th. Of the 10 episodes of the first season, which have been scheduled for an encore broadcast, episode 5 will air on TBS (Kanto local) on July 1st at 2:05 AM.
In episode 5... Nogi Yusuke (played by Sakai) is revealed to be a member of the special unit "Betsuban," which conducts intelligence activities disguised as civilians both domestically and internationally! Together with Kurosu (played by Tori Matsuzaka), also from Betsuban, Nogi eliminates Yamamoto (played by Takaya Sakoda), a monitor for the terrorist organization "Tent," and then visits a certain person for his next objective.
Meanwhile, Nozaki (Hiroshi Abe), feeling uneasy about Yamamoto's death, turns his suspicions towards Nogi, the only person outside of the Public Security Bureau who knew Yamamoto's true identity. As Nozaki thoroughly investigates Nogi, a shocking past is revealed.
The sequel begins immediately after the last scene of the previous film. Just as Nogi returns from a series of missions involving the international terrorist organization "Tent," he sees a red bun placed in a shrine.
It was a signal announcing an emergency summons for a separate unit. What exactly was happening behind the scenes on that day when Nogi fired a bullet at his father, Nogorn Beki (played by Koji Yakusho), who was also the leader of the tent, and when he reunited with Kaoru (played by Fumi Nikaido) and Jameen and embraced them?
The truth will be revealed in the first episode of the sequel.
