Actor Fuku Suzuki attended a preview screening of the NHK drama series "Convenience Store Brothers: Tenderness Mojiko Kogane Village Store," which starts on April 28th, at the NHK Broadcasting Center in Shibuya, Tokyo on April 21st. He revealed that he has been influenced by Kento Nakajima, who plays the lead role, and that he has always dreamed of working part-time at a convenience store.
The drama is based on the novel of the same name by Sonoko Machida. Set in the convenience store "Tenderness Mojiko Koganemura Store" in Mojiko, Kitakyushu City, it is a heartwarming and mysterious human comedy in which the super-handsome and pheromone-exuding store manager, Mitsuhiko Shiwa (played by Nakajima), and the mysterious man, Nihiko Shiwa, solve various impossible problems.
Suzuki, who plays Hirose Taro, a new part-time worker at a convenience store, explained his role by saying, "Among the unique characters, I play the important role of the straight man. I even say some harsh things to the store manager." He then added, "As for myself, Fuku Suzuki, I'm heavily influenced by Kento Nakajima. I'm trying to see how much pheromones I can exude each day as Fuku Suzuki. I'm having fun filming every day while aiming for that," which drew laughter from the audience.
When asked about his experiences with convenience stores in connection with the drama, he revealed, "I've been doing this job for a long time, but I've never had any part-time jobs, so I've always admired people who work part-time at convenience stores." He added, "I've heard a lot of stories from my friends. It's an experience I don't have, so I think it's wonderful."
She added with sparkling eyes, "This time, I learned a lot about the mannerisms of a convenience store clerk, and it felt a bit like I was working a part-time job... I felt like I was getting a little more convincing, and that's when I got the feeling of being a part-timer. I think it's really appealing to be able to learn and experience different jobs in various roles."
Also present at the press conference were Ms. Nakajima, Ms. Tanaka Rena, screenwriter Nonji Nemoto, and director Takafumi Kimura.
