In the 15th episode (aired April 17th) of the NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday, 8:00 AM, etc.), Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , what scene captivated viewers the most? We examined the minute-by-minute changes in "attention level" (according to REVISIO, Kanto region, preliminary figures), which indicates the percentage of viewers glued to their screens, and found that the peak was 72.6% at 8:14 AM.
" Kaze,Kaoru" is based on the story of two trained nurses, Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki, who graduated from the same nursing school. The drama depicts how these two women struggle with how to interact with patients and doctors, clash with each other, grow as individuals, and eventually become the "ultimate buddy duo." Mikami plays Rin Ichinose, and Uesaka plays Naomi Oya.
◇Has Naomi's lie been exposed?
In episode 15, Naomi's (Uesaka) lie is seen through by Sutematsu (Mikako Tabe). Sutematsu asks Naomi to help with the soup kitchen. Meanwhile, with Mitsu's (Mizuno Miki) help, Rin's (Mikami) life begins to get back on track as she gets help cleaning up her house from her neighbors, including Matsu (Maruyama Rei). Then one day, Naomi accepts Kohinata's (Fujiwara Kisetsu) offer to date her.
The "attention level," which indicates the percentage of viewers watching the screen intently, exceeded 70% once at the beginning and once at the end of the third week. Although it dropped slightly in the middle, the final episode of the third week saw increased viewer interest in the drama before and after.
◇With the appearance of Mikako Tabe as"Sutematsu," the level of attention exceeds 70%.
Of the two times the show garnered over 70%, the first, at 8:03 AM (70.1%), was during the opening scene after the theme song. At the Rokumeikan, Sutematsu calls upon the assembled ladies to either hold a bazaar or provide meals for the poor, but the response is lukewarm. After they finally decide on providing meals through a vote of applause, Sutematsu turns to Naomi.
Up to this point, the time is under 3 minutes. Sutematsu implicitly tells Naomi that he has realized she lied about her background to come to the Rokumeikan, and asks for her cooperation with the soup kitchen. This is a crucial scene where Naomi's lie is exposed, but the attention level drops to 64.9% at around 8:04 AM.
◇The peak scene was when Sutematsu and others were preparing meals, and Yoshie was standing next to them!
In the final stages, viewership gradually increased from 8:11 AM (67.8%), reaching its highest point of the day at 72.6% at the ending at 8:14 AM.
At 8:11 AM, Mitsu, who has come to Tokyo, and her neighbor Matsu are reporting to Rin that they have cleaned out the first floor of the house, which used to be a storage room. "I've decided to start working from now on," Mitsu says, explaining that she will be teaching koto. It seemed as though their living environment was settled and their life in Tokyo was starting to get on track, but immediately afterward, two suspicious men were seen peeking into Rin's house. Could they be henchmen of Rin's husband, Kameki (Takahiro Miura)? Perhaps because of scenes like this, the show's popularity began to rise.
From 8:11 AM to 8:12 AM (69.0%), the first half of the 8:13 AM hour (68.7%) features a date scene between Naomi and Kohinata. Something happens that prompts Naomi to agree to date Kohinata. But is it really okay for her to be dating Kohinata, whom she met at the Rokumeikan, a place she infiltrated by lying about her identity?
Then, from the latter half of 8:13 AM (68.7%) to the peak at 8:14 AM (72.6%), the scene shows Sutematsu and the other ladies beginning preparations for the soup kitchen. Naomi, of course, has come along with them, but unfortunately, Pastor Yoshie (Taizo Harada) and other church members are also preparing the soup kitchen right next door. Naomi is in trouble if her lies are exposed any further. Just as she harbors a faint hope that Yoshie will handle the situation well, she is approached by a smiling Rin. Will Naomi be able to get out of this situation next week?
The final part of the episode, which peaked at 8:14 AM, featured a rapid succession of intriguing scenes, making it understandable why viewers were glued to their screens. Both of the episodes that day exceeded 70% viewership, all of which involved scenes with Sutematsu, further demonstrating the strength of the character played by Tabe.
The data used is REVISIO's proprietary "Attention Level" index (Kanto region, preliminary figures), which surveys program and commercial viewing habits in 2,000 households in the Kanto region and 600 households in the Kansai region. A dedicated device equipped with a human recognition sensor constantly measures whether people are looking at the television screen, and calculates the percentage of people in front of the television who were paying close attention to the program.
