The first episode of the TV Asahi Thursday drama "Unsolved Cases: Metropolitan Police Department Document Investigator Season 3" (Thursdays at 9pm), starring Kyoka Suzuki, aired on April 16th, and Haru, who played the role of the physically strong and passionate detective Tomo Yashiro in "Season 2," made a surprise appearance in the same role.
In the last five minutes of the first episode, he appears to save the new character, Hinako Mutsu (Yuna Kuroshima), from a perilous situation. He rushes to the scene where Hinako is being attacked and saves her life with his signature shoulder throw. He will also appear in the second episode, airing on the 23rd, where he will be reunited with his friends from "Season 1," including Risa Narumi (Suzuki), Kiyoshige Koga (Kenichi Endo), Shinji Kusaka (Kenichi Endo), and Ichiro Kuwabe (Keiya Yamauchi).
Haru is currently co-starring with Kumiko Aso in the drama "Tsukiyo Koro - The Answer Lies in Masterpieces -" (Nippon Television Network, Wednesdays at 10 PM), so it is unusual for her to appear in a drama on another network in the same season.
Haru expressed her delight at appearing on "Unsolved Cases" for the first time in about six years, saying, "I was so happy to see all the regular cast members again! I felt truly grateful to be able to appear in a scene where everyone was gathered together."
Regarding his reunion with Suzuki, with whom he partnered up to "Season 2," he reflected, "She's as cute and beautiful as ever... More than anything, facing Kyoka-san allowed me to vividly recall Yashiro's feelings."
Finally, regarding "The Unsolved Woman," she appealed, "This time, we've welcomed new members and it continues to evolve! It's definitely an interesting work, so I hope everyone will watch it." She also sent a message of support to the cast and crew, saying, "I hope everyone involved in filming takes care of their health. Yashiro is always in my heart. Yashiro is wholeheartedly cheering you on!"
"Unsolved Cases: Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Document Investigator" is a mystery series in which unsolved cases are investigated using written documents as clues. It started in April 2018, and this is the third season, approximately six years later. As the 6th Section (Document Deciphering Section) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigation Division's "Special Investigation Task Force" faces a crisis of survival, the brilliant detective Narumi Risa and her younger superior, the new section chief Mutsu Hinako, team up as partners to tackle difficult cases.
