New cuts released for "DARK MACHINE THE ANIMATION"

New stills have been released for "DARK MACHINE THE ANIMATION," a brand new original anime from the cross-media project "DARK MACHINE," which combines esports and anime. The anime is set in near-future Japan and depicts the battles of the protagonist, Kairi, as she aims for the top of "Dark Machine," a globally popular esports competition. The released stills show the serious expressions of the characters playing "Dark Machine" and the heated machine battles.

Additional cast members have been announced to play characters who will be rivals to CARBUNCLE, the esports team to which the protagonist Kairi belongs. It has been revealed that Kazuyuki Okitsu, Ryota Suzuki , Genta Nakamura, and Sohei Horigane will be appearing in the series. Okitsu will play Myojin, the leader of the esports team GREAT CLUSTER, Suzuki will play Ryo, the leader of the esports team Arudabiru, and Nakamura and Horigane will play Kinji and Hill, respectively, who are members of Ryo's team and his childhood friends.

Project "DARK MACHINE" will produce a game and anime based on a world where a battle for energy unfolds in The Dark, an unknown realm where humans cannot survive. Goro Taniguchi , known for the " Code Geass " series and "ONE PIECE FILM RED," will serve as creative producer, and Hidetaka Tenjin, known for the "Macross" series, will be the lead mecha designer. The anime will be directed by Kazuo Terada and produced by Production +h., known for works such as "The Orbital Children" and "Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction."

The anime will be released simultaneously with the game, which is scheduled for worldwide distribution, and will be an unprecedented "e-sports" anime, focusing on "the growth of the protagonist and team" and "the renewal of the competition." Set in a near-future Japan where Chiba has separated from Kanto due to a rapid rise in sea level, the story depicts the battle of the protagonist, Kairi, as she aims for the top of "Dark Machine," a globally popular e-sport. It will be broadcast on Fuji TV in 2026.
