A teaser visual has been released for the second season, "Kaguya Arc," of "Shin Samurai Den YAIBA," a new TV anime based on the manga "YAIBA" by Gosho Aoyama , known for " Detective Conan ." The visual depicts Sayaka being carried away while shedding copious tears, and Yaiba holding the shining Dragon God Sword. A special video looking back at the first season has also been released.
"YAIBA" is a sword-fighting action manga that Aoyama serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" (Shogakukan) from 1988 to 1993, before the start of the " Detective Conan" series. It depicts the adventures of Yaiba Kurogane, an unconventional young swordsman who trains in the jungle with his father. By chance, Tetsuya returns to Japan and strives for even greater strength in a new training ground. All 24 volumes of the manga have been released, with a cumulative circulation of approximately 17 million copies.
The new anime series will be fully supervised by the original author, Aoyama, and will be a complete anime adaptation approximately 30 years after the series' conclusion. Following the 1993-94 TV anime "Kenyuu Densetsu YAIBA,"Minami Takayama will reprise her role as the protagonist, Yaiba. The series will be produced by WIT STUDIO, known for works such as "Attack on Titan" and "SPY×FAMILY." The first season of the TV anime aired on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV from April to September 2025.
