To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the hugely popular 1980s manga "Fist of the North Star," stills from the first two episodes of the completely new anime "Fist of the North Star -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR-" have been released. The images depict Kenshiro, Bat, and villains walking through a wasteland.
A non-credit version of the opening sequence has also been released. The video features the opening theme song "Hallelujah" by the band "[Alexandros]" and showcases Kenshiro, as well as other main characters such as Shin, Yuria, Rei, and Mamiya. A commentary video from "[Alexandros]" has also been released.
It was also announced that the game will be collaborating with the game "Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves." Kenshiro will appear as an additional character in "Season Pass 2."
"Fist of the North Star" is a manga series written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1983 to 1988. Set in 199X, in a post-nuclear war world ruled by violence, it depicts the growth of Kenshiro, the successor to the legendary assassination martial art Hokuto Shinken, as he battles formidable opponents, including his brother Raoh.
It was adapted into a TV anime in 1984, achieving a peak viewership rating of 23.4%. It became a social phenomenon with famous lines such as "You are already dead." Theatrical anime films and OVAs (Original Video Animations) were also produced. A musical adaptation also garnered attention. The comic books have sold over 100 million copies in total.
The new anime will feature Shunsuke Takeuchi as Kenshiro, with Daiki Yamashita as Bat, M・A・O as Rin, Koji Yusa as Shin, Saori Hayami as Yuria, Wataru Takagi as Jagi, Tsuguo Mogami as Toki, and Taiten Kusunoki as Raoh. It will air on TOKYO MX and BS11 from 1 AM on April 10th. The first two episodes will air initially, and episodes three and four will air consecutively on April 17th. The anime will be exclusively streamed worldwide on Prime Video.
