It has been announced that the band Queen Bee will be performing the ending theme (ED) "Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" for the TV anime "A Witch's Life in Mongol," based on the manga by Tomato Soup, which was also selected as the No. 1 female manga in "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2023" (Takarajimasha). The band SEKAI NO OWARI has been announced as performing the opening theme "Stella."
Ahead of the July 4th broadcast premiere, a pre-broadcast promotional video has been released on YouTube. The video showcases Sitara's new destiny and her confrontation with the world's strongest empire, all rendered with stunning visuals from Science SARU. The "full-view version" of the main visual released in May has also been unveiled. It depicts a vast blue sky, a flowing river, and a yurt on the majestic plains of Mongolia, hinting at the expanding story in which Sitara and Dregene's determination will eventually lead to a great storm that will shake the entire Mongol Empire. Advance stills from the first episode have also been released.
Av-chan of "Queen Bee" commented, "A desire for revenge. The feelings of the protagonist who stands alone amidst the turbulent times depicted in the world of the story. I felt the power of the stars in the sheer intensity of it. I hope you will enjoy it in a way that resonates with you!"
Tomato Soup commented on the ending theme "Hoshi" (Star), saying, "It's as if we're listening to their story told under a tent that reached a starry night. This song, which says 'Don't forget,' is sad yet strong. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful song."
"A Witch's Life in Mongol " is a manga set in 13th-century Mongolia, serialized on Akita Shoten's manga website "Souffle". The story follows Sitara, a former slave girl who becomes a prisoner of the Mongol Empire, as she meets Dregene, the sixth wife of the Mongol Emperor, who also harbors complex feelings towards the Mongol Empire. Together, they use their wits to shake up the empire.
The anime will be directed by Naoko Yamada , known for works such as " The Heike Story A Silent Voice," and "The Colors Within ," with Abel Gongora, director of " Dandadan" Season 2, and character design and animation chief by Kenichi Yoshida, known for works such as "Eureka Seven," "OVERMAN King Gainer," and "The Orbital Children." It will be produced by Science SARU, known for works such as "Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!", "The Heike Story," and "Dandadan."
It will air on TV Asahi's anime block "IMAnimation" starting July 4th at 11 PM. The first episode will be a one-hour special featuring two episodes back-to-back.
