Noritake Kinashi of the comedy duo "Tunnels" appeared on the MBS/TBS program "Sunday's First-Time Learning" which aired on June 28th, and spoke about the "separation turmoil" with his wife, actress Narumi Yasuda.
Kinashi appeared in the popular segment "Interviewer Hayashi Osamu," where MC Hayashi Osamu interviews "charismatic figures of the era." After rare interview footage of Kinashi and Yasuda from when they were married was shown, Hayashi mentioned an anecdote from Kinashi's book in which Yasuda said, "Let's try living separately for a while." Kinashi replied, "I don't remember," and "I'll check!" withholding an answer on the spot.
Afterward, Kinashi directly asked Yasuda about her feelings at the time. In the video sent to the program, Kinashi began by saying, "I asked Narumi why she thought about separating just once," and Yasuda revealed the reason she considered separation, saying, "The answer is, because I was out drinking and not coming home. I wondered why she was out drinking when we had young children."
He continued, "When I heard that, it reminded me of something from the past, and I got scolded for a moment. I'm really sorry, Narumi, for what happened back then," and his apology brought laughter to the studio.
