The TV anime "The Kept Man of the Princess Knight), based on the light novel by Toru Shirogane, which also won the Grand Prize at the 28th Dengeki Novel Awards, will begin airing in January 2027. A teaser visual drawn by Hisao Ishii, who is in charge of character design, has also been released. The visual depicts the princess knight Alwyn and her sugar daddy Matthew connected by a red string like a thread of fate, representing the relationship between the two.
A teaser PV has also been released that gives a glimpse into the atmosphere of the labyrinthine city of Gray Neighbor, where the story takes place, as well as the contrasting personalities of the easygoing protagonist Matthew and the serious and proud Alwyn.
"The Kept Man of the Princess Knight" depicts the life of Matthew, a former adventurer who lives as a gigolo in the gray neighborhood of the labyrinthine city of ash, chaos, and vice, supported by Alwyn, a princess knight of a fallen kingdom, and scorned by the people as the lowest kind of "gigolo." The series has sold over 200,000 copies in total.
The anime will be directed by Chihiro Kumano and produced by BLADE. Junichi Suwabe will voice Matthew and Mikako Komatsu will voice Alwyn.
