Professional golfer Isao Aoki will be a guest on the BS12 Twelvi program "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan ~A Showa Era Senior and Two Quirky People~," airing on May 11th at 9 PM. The program will be an hour-long look back on the golf career of "World-renowned Aoki," who has remained active throughout his life. In the discussion of Masashi Ozaki, also known as "Jumbo Ozaki," a fellow student of Yoshiro Hayashi, Aoki says, "I am here today because he came along." What are his thoughts on his lifelong rival, Jumbo Ozaki...?
The program features veteran comedians from the Showa era, such as Shofukutei Tsurube (53 years in the industry) and Sawako Agawa (42 years in the industry), who affectionately call them "Tsurube-chan" and "Sawako-chan," as guests each week.
Aoki, who was a baseball player in his childhood, reveals why he quit baseball, how he started working as a golf course caddy to earn some pocket money, and how he first encountered and started playing golf. He also shares stories about meeting his wife, Chie, his time as chairman of the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), and anecdotes about accompanying the leaders of Japan and the United States on golf diplomacy.
