The first episode of the drama series "Galaxy Vote" (Kansai TV/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10 PM), starring actress Haru Kuroki, aired on April 20th. Kayoko Noro, who plays Akari Tsukioka, the owner of a snack bar, was praised by viewers for being "perfectly suited" to the role.
◇The following contains spoilers.
The drama is an "election entertainment" story in which Mari Hoshino (played by Kuroki) recruits Akari Tsukioka, a bar owner with no political experience, to be her election strategist, and together they take on the Tokyo gubernatorial election.
Akari is the always cheerful owner of "Snack Toshiko." She has a past experience of "losing everything," and she still works at the bar that saved her back then.
When Akari saw Mari frantically searching for "something" on a dark street, she called out, "Did you drop something? What could it be? What kind?" When she learned that Mari had lost her cherished "light bulb toy," she said, "It's okay. We'll find it," and searched with her.
Although the toy wasn't found on the spot, Mari called Akari to the snack bar after she had gone home. Akari welcomed Mari warmly and held out a toy lightbulb, saying, "Is this it?" Mari was surprised and asked, "Did you look for it for me?" Akari then treated her to the bar's signature egg sandwich.
Social media was buzzing with comments like, "Kayoko Noro is perfect as the snack bar mama lol, this drama looks like it's going to be interesting," "Looks promising! She's great as the snack bar mama," "Kayoko Noro as the mama was just so Kayoko Noro," "Why is it that no matter what role Kayoko Noro plays, she looks good in it?", "She's so good as the bar mama," and "Kayoko Noro was amazing! She was kind and warm, it made me cry."
