Actress Atsuko Maeda attended the "Best Body Award 2026" awards ceremony held in Tokyo on April 23rd. Maeda appeared in a pure white dress with a plunging neckline and back, captivating the audience.
Maeda, who has spent many years with her beloved dogs and cats, said, "Since my child was born, perhaps because they saw how much I cherish my child, my cats never do anything bad to my child. I feel like they are watching over me, growing together with me, and I feel that they really care about me." She spoke of how she has come to appreciate her child's growth through coexisting with her pets.
The award was newly established by the Japan Veterinary Medical Association with the aim of realizing a richer society of coexistence between humans and animals. Ms. Maeda, who has cherished her life with animals for over 20 years, received the award.
As the first recipient of the award, Maeda smiled and said, "I think it's quite rare to be the first to receive it, so I'm very happy."
