The second promotional video for the second season of the TV anime "Katainaka no Shosetsuka ni Naro , From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman," was unveiled on March 28th at the "AnimeJapan 2026" event currently being held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto Ward, Tokyo).
The first season depicts Beryl Gardenant, who was appointed as a special instructor for the Knights, being newly appointed as a teacher at the Magic Academy at the suggestion of Lucy Diamond, the head of the Magic Corps of the Kingdom of Reberis, as well as his daily life with his admirers and action scenes that delve into the secrets of the Magic Academy.
This work is a light novel written by Shigeru Sagazaki and illustrated by Nabeshima, a classic fantasy about an invincible swordsman who unknowingly dominates the world. The story follows Beryl Gardenant, who runs a small swordsmanship dojo in a rural village, when his former student, Allusia, who rose to become the commander of the Royal Knights at a young age, visits him and is sent to the capital as a special instructor for the Knights... The series has sold over 9 million copies in total.
The first season of the TV anime aired on TV Asahi's anime block "IMAnimation" from April to June 2025. The second season will begin airing in July.
