"Mad Max: Fury Road" (directed by George Miller), the first new installment in the "Mad Max" car action film series in 30 years, was released in 2015 and won a record six awards at the 88th Academy Awards. It will be broadcast on BS12 Twelvi from 7 PM on March 28th.
"Mad Max" is a popular film that premiered in 1979 starring Mel Gibson, followed by a sequel, "Mad Max 2," in 1981, and a third installment, "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome," in 1985.
"Mad Max: Fury Road," the first new installment in the series in 30 years, is set in a desolate near-future and depicts the struggle for freedom and survival of Max, a former police officer who has lost his beloved family. Tom Hardy plays the lead role of Max, and the film also stars Charlize Theron and Hugh Keays-Byrne.
In a world where oil and water are running out, former police officer Max, having lost his beloved family, lives only by instinct. Captured by the army of Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), who monopolizes resources and rules the people with fear and violence, Max, along with Joe's right-hand woman Furiosa (Charlize Theron), who plots a rebellion against Joe, and his subordinate Nux (Nicholas Hoult), a man painted white from head to toe, begins an escape to freedom with the women who have been held captive as slaves...and that's the story.
In a desolate world, Furiosa and Max race through the landscape in a trailer in search of freedom. However, upon discovering that their destination is contaminated, they return to their starting point in order to survive, resulting in the ultimate "go and come back" movie.
To coincide with this broadcast, the YouTube channel "Kyoukan Theater" will be streaming a simultaneous viewing program titled "Let's Enjoy 'Mad Max: Fury Road' Together with the TV." Utamaru from the hip-hop group "RHYMESTER" and film writer Yoshiki Takahashi will be appearing as guests.
