The NHK Asadora drama series "Kaze,Kaoru " (NHK General, Monday-Saturday 8:00 AM, etc.), starring Ai Mikami and Juri Kosaka , will begin airing on March 30th. This 114th Asadora is based on the story of two trained nurses (nurses formally trained in the Meiji era), Chika Ozeki and Masa Suzuki. Here, we introduce Sada Okuda, played by Kie Negishi.
Okuda Sada is Kamekichi's mother. She takes pride in having worked together with Kamekichi to expand the Okudaya family. Tired of being treated as a nouveau riche by those around her, she proposes marriage to the Ichinose family in order to acquire a higher social standing.
This marks the first time in 11 years that Negishi, who plays the role of Sada, has appeared in a Asadora, since "Mare" (first half of 2015).
"Kaze,Kaoru" depicts the story of two women who graduated from the same nursing school, struggling with how to interact with patients and doctors, clashing with each other, growing as individuals, and eventually becoming the "ultimate buddy duo." Mikami plays the main character, Ichinose Rin, and Uesaka plays the other main character, Oya Naomi.
The script is written by Tomoko Yoshizawa, who has worked on a wide range of genres, from comedies and family dramas to medical dramas and period dramas. The theme song is "Kaze to Machi" by the three-member band "Mrs. Green Apple".
