The 26th episode of the NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）", starring actor Taiga Nakano (NHK General, Sundays at 8 PM, etc.), titled "Make Nobunaga Laugh!", aired on July 5th, and in the final scenes, an unexpected person suddenly emerged as the mastermind behind the "Honnoji Incident," causing a great stir among viewers.
In episode 26, Chosokabe Motochika (Shun Oguri Isobe) is furious when Nobunaga (Shun Oguri) breaks his promise. Mitsuhide (Jun Kaname), who tries to mediate, finds himself in a difficult position.
Meanwhile, Nobunaga suspects his nephew Nobusumi (Atsushi Ogata) of colluding with Chosokabe and plotting a rebellion, and orders him to stay under house arrest. After hearing the whole story from Mitsuhide and understanding Nobunaga's distress, Koichiro (Nakano) and Hideyoshi (Sosuke Ikematsu) invite Nobunaga and Oichi (Aoi Miyazaki) to Nagahama Castle, where the entire Hashiba family entertains them.
The banquet ended with a drinking contest between Nobunaga and Hideyoshi. Defeated by Hideyoshi, Nobunaga decided to grant Hideyoshi and Koichiro's wishes and forgive Nobusumi, but...
Towards the end, Nobusumi learns that Mitsuhide has forgiven him, but at that time, he makes a threatening remark, saying that if the official letter that Mitsuhide received from Ashikaga Yoshiaki (played by Onoe Ukon) is found, Nobunaga will not forgive him.
Mitsuhide, who had been ordered to assassinate Nobunaga by that letter, was surprised and flustered that Nobusumi knew its contents, but then Nobusumi confessed, "I am the one who wrote that." Mitsuhide was left speechless, and the episode ended, with the next episode, episode 27, previewed as "The Honnoji Incident."
