To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the popular "Idolmaster" series, which includes games, it has been announced that the music variety show "Ai MAX!!! TV" starring idols will be broadcast on TOKYO MX from 6pm on March 29th. This will be the first time that idols from the series will be featured on a terrestrial TV show. The show will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel "Idolmaster Channel", and will also be available for a limited time on TVer and the same channel for catch-up viewing.
Idols from across the "iM@S" series will appear and perform live. The show will explore the appeal of the idols and their songs from multiple angles, with studio talk and video messages. Yumemi Riamu and Mimine Yuika, both 19 years old, will be the MCs.
The theme of the program is "Idol songs you want to hear now," and it will introduce classic songs from across the series from various angles. Towards the end, it will also focus on the relationship between idols and fans through "idol songs with poignant lyrics" and "memorable idol songs." A conversation will unfold in which the feelings of both the supporters and the supported will intersect.
The "Idolmaster" series is a game in which players act as producers and train idols. It started as a game for amusement arcades in 2005, and has now expanded into a wide range of content, including smartphone apps, home games, live events, CDs, anime, animated films, radio shows, and merchandise. The series celebrated its 20th anniversary on July 26, 2025.
