The seventh episode of the TBS Tuesday drama "Mirai no Musuko" (Tuesdays at 10pm), starring actor Shida Mirai, aired on March 3rd. The scene in which Shida's character, Mirai, sheds tears thinking of Souta (Amano Yuu), brought tears to the eyes of viewers.

Mirai learns from Kei (Hagiwara Mamoru), who is working to restore Souta's smartwatch "Luna," that one of its parts is missing. Without the part, communication with Mirai would be impossible, and Souta might not be able to return to Mirai. With the help of Masaki (Akihisa Shiono) and other members of the theater troupe, Mirai searches for the part and manages to find it.
Later, when Masaki expressed concern about Souta returning to Mirai, Mirai honestly revealed her feelings, saying, "When we found the part, I should have been happy, but I was thinking terrible things. I wondered if I'd be able to be with Souta every day if it didn't get fixed. I'm so unfair, aren't I?"
While on location for the movie, Mirai was separated from Souta, and she burst into tears as she said, "Souta told me he wanted to see his mommy. Not to Mirai's mommy, but to me." Thinking back on the days she spent with Souta, she was overwhelmed with the thought, "I don't want to be separated from him, I want to be with him forever..."
On social media, comments included, "I cry my eyes out every time, but episode 7 was way more than just sobbing. It's so sad when Souta goes home," "You don't want to leave him... he's your son after all," "Shida Mirai's acting is what really raises the quality of this drama. Her acting at the end, where her emotions overflow and she unintentionally bursts into tears, was just amazing," and "The scene in the morning when Souta calls her and she wakes up and they look at each other, I was so happy that for some reason I started crying. That's right, just having your precious child in front of you makes you feel so much love."
