The recruitment advertisement for Miss Magazine 2027 was posted on February 16th at Shibuya Mark City Mark Tapestry (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). Yukine Nagaoka, the Grand Prix winner of Miss Magazine 2025, was chosen to appear in the advertisement.
The ad positions "winning an award or debuting as a stepping stone, not the goal," and features Nagaoka on a stacked cover. Nagaoka shows "a different side to usual." Nagaoka says, "I feel like this ad gives a sense of the possibilities for the future. I'm happy that more people will get to know me through the ad. Miss Magazine is a place where you can change yourself, so have confidence in yourself and do your best! I'm rooting for you!"
Miss Magazine, which will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2027, will be revamped with the aim of becoming "Japan's most nosy beauty contest." The contest aims to support women who aspire to enter the entertainment industry, helping them to become actors, entertainers, models, and other careers, and to reach a "turning point in their lives."
For Miss Magazine 2027, the judging process will be expanded from the previous best 16 to a best 20. The judging will be conducted in stages, with the best 10 and finalists selected, and the judging period will be extended. Additional judging items will be added to allow viewers to get to know the contestants better. In addition to the existing Grand Prix, a runner-up will be created, and the winners of each award will be guaranteed the release of a photobook. The Grand Prix winner will receive 1 million yen, and the runner-up 500,000 yen. After winning, the winners will be followed up to learn various skills, such as how to use social media, with the aim of strengthening their talent.
Applications will be accepted until February 28th, and the grand prize winner will be announced on January 19th, 2027. Eligible applicants are unmarried women born between April 1st, 2002 and March 1st, 2010.
