The fourth episode of the popular TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Reboot" (Sundays at 9 PM), starring Suzuki Ryohei, aired on February 15th. The episode generated a lot of excitement as people began speculating about the background behind the "dream" that Ichika, played by Toda Erika, had.
◇The following contains spoilers
One morning, Ichika had a "dream" that she was being shot. Startled, she woke up, steadied her breathing, got ready, climbed onto the scaffolding and peered into the attic. She stared at one spot and muttered, "I'm off now."
In the dream scene, various documents, including photographs, are posted on the wall behind Ichika. Viewers have noted that these documents resemble the room where Hayase (played by Kenichi Matsuyama) studied information about Gido (played by Suzuki) before rebooting into him.
On social media, people were talking about this, saying things like, "When Hayase rebooted into Gido, he had a lot of documents stuck up on the wall and was studying about Gido. I don't know who this is, but maybe the person who rebooted into Ichika is studying about Ichika? There are pictures of her sister too," "The dream where Ichika was shot - maybe that happened while Natsumi (Yamaguchi Sayaka) was rebooting into Ichika and studying?" and "Natsumi killed Ichika and rebooted her for some reason. Her tears when she woke up and the reason she cares about her sister must come from guilt."
There were also opinions such as, "I wondered if it's possible to have a memory of being shot, but if it's a memory from the perspective of the shooter, then perhaps one could dream about it and shed tears of regret...If the current Ichika is Natsumi, then was it Natsumi who shot Ichika?" and "But then why is the shot Ichika doing a reboot of Ichika by sticking paper on the wall? Is Natsumi the third Ichika?"
The drama is a suspense story about Hayase Riku, who is framed for the murder of his wife, abandoning his family and past, rebooting himself into the face of corrupt detective Gido, and pursuing the real culprit.
