It has been announced that Gen Urobuchi and Ken Maejima will be in charge of the script for "Ghost of Tsushima: Legends," an anime based on the online multiplayer mode "Legends" of the popular game "Ghost of Tsushima." It was also announced that Takashi Okazaki will be in charge of character design, and visuals of the assassin, archer, and ronin have been released.
The anime will be produced by HAYATE, a company jointly funded by Aniplex and Crunchyroll. Takanobu Mizuno will direct, and Kamikaze Douga will handle the animation production.
"Ghost of Tsushima" is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions, the American game development company known for the "Sly Cooper" and "inFAMOUS" series, and released in 2020. Set on Tsushima Island, which has been suddenly invaded by the Mongol Empire, the surviving samurai, resurrected from the underworld as the "Ghost," decides to protect the people of Tsushima, even if it means resorting to fighting methods that go against the samurai code, and challenges the Mongol army.
