A super teaser PV for the second season of the TV anime "Atelier of Witch Hat," based on the manga by Kamome Shirahama, has been released. Continuing from the final episode of the first season, it depicts thrilling action scenes of the Lomonon people closing in on Coco and Kieffrey battling them. A meaningful shot of Coco wearing a wide-brimmed hat is also shown, and the video more vividly portrays the secrets and taboos that cast a dark shadow behind the fantastical and beautiful magical world. The latter half of the video also shows the grand auditorium and the backs of new characters.
The promotional video was unveiled at "AnimeExpo 2026," currently being held in Los Angeles, USA. At the event, a message from director Ayumu Watanabe to the audience was read aloud. Director Watanabe commented, "Dear anime freaks at AX! I am very excited because I can imagine that this message is being read aloud to all of you who are watching the PV here right now. It is the greatest happiness for our anime team to be able to deliver the sequel to this wonderful story to the world, and it gives us the courage to overcome any difficulties this project may face."
He continued, "The story of 'Atelier of Witch Hat' is far from over! We must see this story through to the end. Coco and the others already live in our hearts! A complex and difficult world of magic unfolds before Coco's eyes. There, you will witness the meaning of the miracles that magic brings. Ah...it's frustrating even to write this. I wish I could rush to this venue right now with my magical tool, the 'Door Window,' and pat each and every one of you to convey my excitement. I'll say it again because it's important: the story is far from over! And these elements are being translated into animation more deeply and carefully than ever before. I want you to take that fact home with you today. As fellow lovers of this story! Don't forget! Believe me! It's true! Above all, we, the creators, also want to see the continuation of this story."
"Atelier of Witch Hat" tells the story of Coco, a girl who longs to be a wizard, as she steps into the mysterious world of magic. The series began serialization in "Monthly Morning Two" (Kodansha) in 2016, and has sold over 9 million copies worldwide. It has been selected for manga awards in France, Spain, South Korea, and other countries, and in 2020 won the Eisner Award for Best Asian Work, attracting attention from around the world.
The first season of the TV anime began airing in April and concluded on June 29th.
