It has been announced that the popular anime "Doraemon" (TV Asahi) will air a "Doraemon Birthday Special" on September 6th at 6:56 PM. This year's special will feature an original episode titled "Crash, Chaos! Doraemon is the Suspect!?" In this episode, Doraemon is wanted across all eras for allegedly stealing the jewel "Dorayaki's Smile," leading to a thrilling escape across time and space. A visual in the style of a wanted poster has been released.
A valuable jewel, "The Smile of Dorayaki," is stolen from the mansion of Richie, a wealthy man in the 22nd century, and the security camera footage reveals none other than Doraemon. Framed for a crime he didn't commit, Doraemon is wanted by all eras, and a bounty is placed on his head. A variety of unique bounty hunters stand in Doraemon's way one after another. As Doraemon's pursuers close in, a mysterious fox-shaped robot, "Conrobo," makes its appearance.
It was also announced that guest voice actors will appear in the "Birthday Special." Further details will be announced at a later date.
Doraemon objects will appear in the Roppongi area as part of TV Asahi's summer event, "TV Asahi Roppongi Hills SUMMER FES," which will be held from July 18th. A digital stamp rally, "Doraemon Birthday Special Presents Scan and Find! Secret Mission Doraemon on the Run," will also be held. By scanning the QR code on the Doraemon wanted posters displayed at the venue, you can take on the mission. A pop-up store, "I'M DORAEMON POP-UP STORE BY FLOWERING," will be open from August 19th to 23rd.
During the regular broadcast of "Doraemon" (Saturdays at 5 PM), starting July 25th, four consecutive weeks of "chillingly cool" episodes will be aired as part of "Chilling Month." A special summer-themed eye-catching image will also be released.
The "Doraemon Birthday Special" is broadcast annually to celebrate Doraemon's birthday on September 3, 2112.
