It has been revealed that the latest chapter, chapter 411, of Yoshihiro Togashi's popular manga "HUNTER×HUNTER" will be published in issue 31 of "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), which goes on sale June 29th. This will be the first time "HUNTER×HUNTER" has been published in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in approximately 18 months, since issue 2 of 2025, which went on sale Getsuku, 2024. The announcement was made in the preview page of issue 30 of the magazine, which went on sale June 22nd, and was described as a "center color spread to commemorate the publication of the latest chapter and the release of the latest volume."
In the December 26, 2022 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (combined issue 4/5 of 2023), which featured chapter 400 of "HUNTER×HUNTER," it was announced that the publication format would change from chapter 401 onwards. Considering Togashi's health, it was stated that "after discussions between the author and the editorial department, it has been decided that chapters 401 onwards will not be published weekly." Chapter 401 was published in issue 45 of 2024, released on October 7, 2024, followed by chapters 402-410.
"HUNTER×HUNTER" tells the story of Gon, a boy who leaves his hometown to become a professional hunter like his father, whom he was separated from in his childhood. He embarks on adventures with his companions, including Killua, who grew up in a family of assassins. The manga began serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1998. It was first adapted into a TV anime in 1999, and a second anime version with a completely new staff and cast aired on Nippon Television from 2011 to 2014. The 39th volume of the manga, the first new volume in about two years, will be released on July 3rd.
The series had been running intermittently, but after concluding the "Election Arc" following the "Ant Arc" and just beginning a new storyline, it went on hiatus in March 2012. It resumed in June 2014 after a hiatus of about 2 years and 3 months, but went on hiatus again in August of the same year due to the author's back pain. It resumed again in April 2016 after a hiatus of about 1 year and 8 months, but went on hiatus again in July of the same year. It has continued to go on hiatus and resume, with breaks occurring from July 2016 to June 2017, from September 2017 to January 2018, and from April to September 2018.
The series resumed in October 2022 after a hiatus of approximately 3 years and 11 months, with chapter 391 being published. Subsequently, chapters 392 through 400 were published, and the publication format was changed starting with chapter 401.
