It has been announced that Luna Nakagawa and Noel Hayase of the idol group "FRUITS ZIPPER" have been appointed as the "Bakebake Support Team" for the latest film, "Crayon Shin-chan Crayon Shin-chan: Strange and Mysterious! My Yokai Vacation," the 33rd theatrical release of the popular anime "Crayon Shin-chan." "FRUITS ZIPPER" has been in charge of the opening theme song "Hachamecha Wacha Life!" for the TV anime "Crayon Shin-chan-chan" since 2025, and they have taken on the role of support team to promote the theatrical release. Nakagawa and Hayase will also be appearing as voice actors in the film.
The announcement was made on "FRUITS ZIPPER's NEW KAWAII shite yo?" (TV Asahi), a regular program of "FRUITS ZIPPER". Regarding her appointment as a Bakebake supporter, Nakagawa commented, "The members and I had talked about how great it would be to do voice work for a 'Crayon Crayon Shin-chan chan movie' someday, so I'm very happy that this dream has come true." Nakagawa, who was approached by the two members of "Mayurika," who are the "official big brothers" of "FRUITS ZIPPER" and will be guest voice actors in the theatrical version, recalled, "Mayurika asked me to do Shin-chan next time, so I'm very moved to be able to work with them like this."
The roles played by the two who tried their hand at voice acting for the "Crayon Shin-chan" movie remain a secret. They said they struggled with the instruction to "speak in your normal way," with Nakagawa saying, "There are parts of my way of speaking that are hard to hear, and I was told several times to 'please speak a little more clearly,' which made me realize once again how difficult voice acting is." Hayase commented, "I was allowed to act in my normal way, and although I was given the OK without any fuss, I was still anxious, but I felt that I could trust everyone and it would be alright."
The latest film, "Kikikaikai! Ora no Yokai Vacation," follows the Nohara family as they stumble into the land of yokai (supernatural beings) and embark on an unpredictable adventure. Masaki Watanabe, who has been directing the TV anime series since 2022 and handling storyboards and part-direction for the "Crayon Shin-chan" movie series since 2024, will be directing the movie series for the first time. Yoshiko Nakamura, who has written the scripts for the TV series, will be writing the script. Actress Sairi Ito will play Yako, a nine-tailed fox yokai, Sakamoto of the comedy duo "Mayurika" will play the squid yokai from Edomae Sushi, and Nakatani will play the flounder yokai. The film will be released on July 31st.
