To commemorate the 10th anniversary in July of the anime "The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.," based on the gag manga by Shuichi Aso, the non-credit versions of the opening sequences for the first and second seasons of the TV anime have been released on YouTube for the first time. The non-credit versions of the ending sequences for the first and second seasons will be released on June 8th.
For the first cour of the first season, the opening theme was "Seishun wa Zankoku Janai" sung by Natsuki Hanae, who also voices Reita Toritsuka in the anime. For the second cour, the opening theme was "SaiΨ Saikouchou!" by the idol group "Dempagumi.inc". For the first cour of the second season, the opening theme was "Ψlent Prisoner" by "Saikikku Lover feat. Saiki Kusuo", and for the second cour, the opening theme was "Oteage Psychics" by the band "Shiggy Jr.".
"The Disastrous Life of Saiki K." was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 2012 to 2018. It depicts the life of Saiki Kusuo, a psychic who tries to live an inconspicuous life, but gets involved in various troubles because of his eccentric friends.
The first season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2016, the second season from January to June 2018, and the "Final Arc" aired in December 2018. "Ψ Reawakened" began streaming on Netflix in December 2019. A live-action film adaptation directed by Yuichi Fukuda and starring Kento Yamazaki was released in 2017, which also garnered attention.
