On June 5th, Friday Road Show (Nippon Television Network, Fridays at 9 PM) will air "The Goonies" (1985, USA), a film conceived and executive produced by the legendary Steven Spielberg, with an extended 5-minute runtime.
Mikey(voiced by Yoshiko Fujita) is a mischievous boy who lives in the rural town of Goon Dogs. He and his friends, the boisterous Mouse (voiced by Masako Nozawa), the food-loving and lying Chunk (voiced by Chinatsu Sakamoto), and the inventive Data (voiced by Masako Sugaya), call themselves the Goonies and always play together.
Bound by an unbreakable bond, the Goonies face the threat of disbandment when a greedy housing developer forces them to vacate their home. Amidst this crisis, the children discover a treasure map left behind by the legendary pirate "One-Eyed Willy" in the attic. Determined to claim the treasure, they head to a restaurant on a cape where the treasure is said to lie, but the restaurant turns out to be the hideout of the notorious Fratelli family, who are on the run.
Starting next week, June 12th, Friday Road Show will be airing the popular "Toy Story" series for four consecutive weeks.
