Additional cast members have been announced for the TV anime "The Furious Young Lady Swore Revenge. ~I Will Crush My Homeland with the Power of a Magic Book~," which is based on the light novel published by HJ Novels (Hobby Japan) that won the "HJ Novel Award 2021 First Half." It has been revealed that Yohei Azakami, Masaaki Mizunaka, and Marika Kono will be appearing in the anime.
Azagami, who plays Lucas Rebrik, the ambassador of the neighboring Yutia Empire sent to the homeland of the protagonist Elisabeth, commented, "He has good looks and the title of Viscount, but he is always being tossed around by various circumstances, mainly centered around Elisabeth. I am deliberately creating the role of a pathetic man." Regarding the work, he said, "It is a revenge drama of Elisabeth, and it is exhilarating to see her carry out her revenge in a brilliant and refreshing way. Far from being a 'serves them right!', she crushes her opponents so thoroughly that you feel sorry for them. Elisabeth is scary. She is so fascinating that she is scary."
Mizunaka, who plays Fried Haldria, the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Haldria who broke off his engagement with Elisabeth and ordered her imprisonment in the dungeon, revealed, "Fried is extremely self-centered and narcissistic, so I approached the role with a strong awareness that 'everything I do is right!'" He added, "He is one of the characters who has a big impact on the story, so please pay attention to his interactions with Elisabeth!" Regarding the work itself, he honestly confessed, "Elisabeth's revenge is definitely the most appealing and noteworthy aspect... Her own abilities are overwhelmingly high, and the way she takes revenge on her homeland that betrayed her in various ways... it was quite frightening to watch... haha."
Takano, who plays Silvia Lockeat, Crown Prince Fried's new fiancée, described Silvia as "a slightly dangerous but charming girl," and commented, "I made sure to portray her presence as she stands out in aristocratic society." Regarding the work, she revealed behind the scenes of the recording, saying, "There is no mercy in the revenge! I think it's a work that those who strongly empathize with Elisabeth will enjoy the most. During the voice recording, I was watching along with Silvia, trembling and wondering, 'Could it be me next...?'"
"The Enraged Young Lady Swears Revenge" is a light novel written by Hagure Metabo and illustrated by Masami. It's a revenge fantasy about Elisabeth, a beautiful genius young lady who is suddenly dumped by the Crown Prince and imprisoned. Armed with the most powerful grimoire, she uses her connections, finances, and military power to take revenge on her traitors. It has also been adapted into a manga.
The anime will be directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya and produced by Studio Comet. Saori Onishi will voice the main character, Elisabeth Leiston/Ellie Leist. It will air on TV Tokyo, BS11, AT-X, and other channels starting in July.
