◇The following contains spoilers.
Luna is begged by her mother (Mako Ishino) to decipher the password to her father's (Ryo Ishibashi) PC, and together they embark on a new "literary quest." However, the only clue they have is the cover of "I Am a Cat" displayed on the screen. Seeking clues, the two visit the home of Yoshizawa (Toru Nomaguchi), a leading expert on Natsume Soseki. There, Ryoko reunites with Yoshizawa's wife, Satsuki, with whom she once played badminton as a pair. Ryoko and Satsuki both aimed for the Olympics but failed, while Ryoko achieved her dream. Complex emotions swirl between the two women who unexpectedly reunite.
Meanwhile, police officers visit Yoshizawa's home and inform him that his son, Ryunosuke (played by Keihyo Nii), is suspected of making a bomb threat in the park. Luna also learns that Ryunosuke has recently been engaging in inexplicable behavior, such as stealing bread and buying and discarding large quantities of beef and stuffed animals. She then realizes that there is a heartfelt message hidden behind his bizarre actions.
It was something Ryunosuke did to save Koji (Takeshi Tanoi), with whom he had once been close but had grown estranged, after seeing him putting needles in supermarket food and placing glass shards in the park's sandbox.
Having seen through the truth, Luna takes Koji to Ryunosuke's room and asks if Ryunosuke helped Koji because the time they spent together was important to him. Then, in front of Ryoko and Satsuki, she says this:
"The time you spent dreaming, the time you suffered—all of it has shaped who you are today. So please don't deny your past self...and the friends you spent that precious time with." "Even though you've grown distant, you couldn't leave him alone, and you tried to save him. It's a miracle to meet friends you feel that way about."
Later, in the final scene, Ryoko is shown meeting Satsuki after Luna gives her Satsuki's contact information. In her heart, Ryoko murmurs, "Mom said that meeting a friend you can cherish is a miracle. Mom and Satsuki are my miracles," and she smiles, making eye contact with Satsuki, and waves as she approaches her.
On social media, there was an outpouring of praise for Luna's speech, which reconnected Ryoko and Satsuki, who had grown distant. Comments such as "Luna's words were wonderful and moving," "Luna's words really resonated with me," and "Luna's words are always comforting" were posted, generating a lot of buzz.
