Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro will appear on the talk variety show "A-Studio+" (TBS network), which will air on May 15th at 11 PM.
In an interview with Nakamura Baigyoku, a Living National Treasure who was also a classmate of Danjuro's father, the 12th Danjuro, he praised him, saying, "You're doing a great job," which made Danjuro blush, and the contents of a letter his father left behind shortly before his death were revealed.
Interviews with younger Kabuki actors Hiromatsu Otani, Kangyoku Nakamura, and Takanosuke Nakamura revealed surprising ways in which their juniors are using Danjuro's frequently updated social media accounts, as well as anecdotes about the "outrageous" requests he sometimes made.
Furthermore, the program reveals his feelings towards his eldest daughter, Botan Ichikawa, saying, "I hope she continues to grow up to be kind," and shows his efforts as a father to confront his eldest son, Shinnosuke Ichikawa's, adolescence head-on, while also showing his children revealing unexpected sides of their father.
