"Akinaiseiden Kin to Gin" is a series set in the mid-Edo period that vividly and cheerfully depicts the lives of ordinary people who succeed in business through hard work and ingenuity, interwoven with a variety of customs and traditions. Season 1 aired in 2023, and Season 2 aired in 2025.
Season 3 will once again feature Sachiko (played by Koshiba), the seventh-generation owner of Gosuzuya, a kimono and fabric store that opened in Tawaramachi, Asakusa, Edo. As Sachiko's struggle to protect Gosuzuya reaches its climax, she will also arrive at a realization of something irreplaceable.
In the third episode, Gosuzuya, whose path to selling kimono in Edo was cut off, becomes a specialty store for thick fabrics. Sachi takes on the challenge of developing new cotton products. Kensuke (Yu Sakuma) and Umematsu (Kazuya Takahashi) dedicate themselves to devising new patterns, and Rikizo (Tsutomu Ikeda) also works on the technique of dyeing small patterns on cotton. At that time, Kikue (Aki Asakura) and Oume (Risa Naito) arrive in Edo with Tetsusuke (Tomohito Yashima).
When everyone goes out to watch fireworks, Kensuke comes up with a design. A few days later, a man who will determine the fate of Gosuzuya arrives...and the story unfolds from there.
