The second episode of ABEMA's original romance show "Love Hospital" was streamed on April Getsuku, and former politician Shinji (Shinji Ishimaru, 43 years old) and Asa (Akira Kamiya, 25 years old), Miss University of Tokyo 2020 and current graduate student at the University of Tokyo, grew closer.
The program, consisting of six episodes, follows adults who have become so engrossed in their work that they have forgotten about love, as they confront their feelings for love through a three-day, two-night cohabitation.
In the second episode, Shinji and Asa went on a kayaking date. They were given a "love potion" (mission) of doing a "Titanic hug on a kayak," and while Shinji was hesitant, Asa pulled him along, saying, "Let's just go for it!" However, the two lost their balance and fell into the sea together. They laughed together, and their relationship grew closer.
After emerging from the sea, the two tried a new "love remedy" in the jacuzzi: the "I Love You Game" while holding each other's bodies. Holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes, they shyly said "I love you" to one another. Asa immediately burst out laughing, to which Shinji teased, "Perhaps you still lack life experience?" Asa retorted, "If I lose, I'll drink snake wine. I'm serious." The studio's MCs were excited by their innocent exchange, exclaiming, "They look like they're having fun!" and "They seem to be getting along well!"
The conversation also turned to romance. When Asa directly asked, "Are you interested in finding love here?", Shinji replied, "I'm not sure. I'm the type who thinks things through a lot." When asked further, "Do you want to start a family?", he revealed his true feelings, saying, "I don't necessarily want to have my own children, but I would like to experience raising them. I do have a desire to fully enjoy the good things about having a family."
In an interview after the date, Asa confessed that her impression of Ishimaru had changed, saying, "Ishimaru is actually a surprisingly cheerful person. Contrary to the image I had of him from what people on social media call the 'Ishimaru style of speaking,' I was able to simply enjoy the conversation. My impression of him has completely changed."
Shinji, on the other hand, also seemed to have a positive impression of Asa, saying, "She was really interesting, and I think she's a charming person. Logically, she's popular. Almost no one would disagree with that."
Watching from the studio, MC Allen commented, "They seemed quite close! It felt like he was opening up to Asa-chan a little."Tina Tamashiro added, "I think he might have feelings for Asa-san," expressing her anticipation for future developments.
