"Radio Star" is a nonstop entertainment drama set in Noto, depicting how ordinary citizens become stars. The cast includes Masahiro Kohmoto, Kiyohiko Shibukawa, Shoma Kai, Kaito Oyagi, Shunsuke Kazama Kazama, Tsutomu Tamura, Takako Tokiwa Tokiwa, and Manami Ono from the idol group "Hinatazaka46". The theme song is "Fune Ippai no Sachi wo" (A Boat Full of Happiness), written and composed by Yumi Matsutoya and sung by MISIA.
In the sixth episode, Kanade (Fukuchi) is surprised to learn that Rikuto (Kai) is a former comedian. She forcefully asks Rikuto for advice on how to make the radio show more exciting, and comes up with the idea of a cooking competition using ingredients from Noto.
The people who agreed to support the idea were the town's chef, Junya Itami (played by Yoshimasa Kondo), and Masahiro Ono (played by Kazama), the husband of Sakura Ono (played by Tokiwa).
