"Daimaru Ai wa Sentaku Suru" (Dora Dora Daisakusen), starring Kumamoto Pro-Wrestling of the comedy duo "Beni Shoga," will premiere on April 4th in TV Asahi's late-night drama slot "Dora Dora Daisakusen" (Saturdays at 12:30 AM). This marks Kumamoto's first drama appearance and first starring role.
The drama is a romantic suspense story about Ai Oomaru (Kumamoto), a female detective who loves shojo manga and has a vivid imagination, who falls in love with the handsome, mysterious men who are suspects in her cases and is forced to choose between "love or justice?". At the end of each episode, Kumamoto takes on the ultimate dilemma with unscripted, improvised acting. There are four episodes in total.
The project was conceived by TV Asahi producer Teriha Koyama, who has worked extensively with the comedy duo "Beni Shoga" on variety shows. This marks her first time producing a drama series. The script will be written by Aya Takei, known for her work on "Jun'ai Dissonance" (Fuji TV) and "Fufu no Himitsu" (BS-TBS).
Reina Moriya from the idol group "Sakurazaka46" and actor Ren Kiriyama will also appear. Moriya will play Misaki Tomoe, Ai's junior detective and partner, while Kiriyama will play Maehara Koki, Ai's fellow detective.
In the first episode, Aloha Takamatsu from the popular group "Bullet Train" makes a guest appearance, in the second episode, Eito Konishi and Hiromu Honda from the idol duo "ROIROM" make guest appearances, and in the third episode, actors Haruto Shiratori and Mauna Inage make guest appearances, with handsome men appearing one after another.
When Kumamoto heard who the cast was, she was overjoyed, saying, "This drama is too perfect for me!" Her co-star, Inada Miki, who plays the owner of a snack bar that serves as a hangout for the detectives in the drama, apparently doubted her, saying, "Isn't this script written by you (Kumamoto)?"
Pay attention to Kumamoto's ad-lib acting in the scene where she has to make a "fateful choice" in front of handsome men. The theme song is "SUPER Aisa Lady," a newly written song by "YURERUKO," a band known for "shouting out about wavering feelings of love."
