The first episode of the drama series "Wednesday, Please Let Me Be Embraced by My Husband" (TV Tokyo, Wednesdays at 12:30am), starring Yuka Sugai and Noriko Iriyama, aired late at night on April 1st, and a comment made by Yoko Kobuki's (Sugai) boyfriend, Fumiyuki Kamisu (Yu Inaba), became a hot topic.
The drama tells the story of Yoko, who falls into self-loathing after unintentionally having an affair, and goes to meet Kamisu's wife, Rei (played by Iriyama), to apologize, only to be told, "Would you continue to have an affair with Fumiyuki every Wednesday...?" This is an infidelity-themed love suspense drama depicting the strange love triangle between Yoko, who continues her "officially sanctioned affair," Rei, whose true feelings are unclear, and Kamisu, who cannot stop cheating.
When Yoko and Kamisu met up in the park, Kamisu suddenly started talking about something strange: "You know how the Maasai people hunt lions? When they turn 15, they're made to hunt lions. It's a test of how strong a man is, and if he kills a lion, he gets to marry one."
She continued, "Apparently, polygamy is common among the Maasai. Each wife has a role. The first wife is chosen by the parents from childhood. The second wife is chosen by the husband himself..." Yoko replied, "No matter who it is... I wouldn't like it."
Then Kamisu confessed to Yoko, "My wife found out." Yoko was confused, "Your wife... who is your wife?" Kamisu bowed his head and said, "She found out about our relationship. I'm sorry," and the story continued from there.
Comments on social media include: "He suddenly starts talking about the Maasai tribe, what a jerk!!!", "A novel way to come out", "A typical jerk", and "It's scary when someone suddenly starts talking about the Maasai tribe in a park at night! So weird!!"
